Isinya Farm, a project of Tandaza Trust, is dedicated to sustainable agriculture and community empowerment in the semi-arid region of Isinya. In 2023, we were blessed with an additional 2 acres of land, allowing us to plant various fruit trees, including pawpaws, avocados, bananas, and guavas. With generous support from the Australian Friends of Tandaza, we conducted a borehole survey to identify water sources for future drilling.

Water availability remains a challenge, so we installed gutters to collect rainwater, providing some relief during dry spells. Experts have recommended exploring less water-dependent farming options, such as growing feeding grass for cattle, raising chickens and rabbits, and initiating greenhouse farming, while we await soil sample results to identify suitable crops for our conditions.

Our farm manager has also received training at Christian Impact Missions in Yatta, focusing on effective farming practices for semi-arid regions. With continued support and strategic planning, we are optimistic about the future of Isinya Farm, aiming to create a thriving agricultural hub that feeds the community and empowers individuals through sustainable practices.
